From the “things that are interesting and cool” department:
Scoopt is a company that sells images from less-established or amateur photographers to media outlets and splits the proceeds with them. They are now encouraging Flickr users to tag their photos with “scoopt” to let Scoopt sell those photos without having to contact the Flickr user first, and then simply remit payment to them once the sale is made. Interesting, no?
I can see a couple of potential issues with this model, but most interesting is that they seem to be waiving their three months of exclusivity rule for the Flickr photos, which makes it a much better deal, IMO, than just submitting your photos directly to Scoopt and hoping they use them.
Some of you all have giggled a bit when I’ve described what a day at Tom’s folks’ place is like. Now, I present photographic evidence.
When I am Queen of the Universe, I’m going to ban dreadlocks on white people.
Dreadlocks on black people look cool and are often flattering. Dreadlocks on white people look dirty and gross.
White people, we’ve had like, ALL the advantages for hundreds of years. We can give up this hairstyle to the people who wear it better, okay?
…Guinness is still with us.
