a serious issue
Thursday, February 3rd, 2005So, Tom and I have been together for nearly three years now, and things are going really well. We spend leisure time together, we run errands together, we carpool together, and things are great. But we have one significant difference that in three years, we haven’t been able to totally resolve, and I’m starting to get concerned.
You see, Tom likes pineapple on his pizza, but I am horrified by the idea of fruit and tomato sauce.
He insists that it’s delicious, and yet I just can’t imagine adding acidic toppings to a food already covered in tomato sauce.
So what do you think? Is this an insurmountable problem, or can we get couples’ culinary counseling?
(If it helps, I’m pretty picky about the contexts in which I will eat fruit- I don’t eat pineapple with ham, I don’t eat applesauce with porkchops, I don’t eat cranberries with turkey, etc. but I love all kinds of fruit with… other fruit. Or peanut butter. Or ice cream.)
